"They're part of the family, so take them along!"

Greetings, everyone!
Do you have trouble viewing emails with
images? Then you'll
want to read the NewsPetter
here.
According to the
Florida Department of
Agriculture & Consumer Services Division of
Forestry, this is fire season. With
little rain this spring, things are dry in the
sunshine state and,
according to the experts, "The outlook for the
rest of the peak fire season is continuing hot
and dry weather with increasing fire danger
and fire potential." That means we all need to
stay alert and prepared
with supplies and an evacuation plan for
ourselves and our pets.
Speaking of emergencies, we're happy to
announce we're now carrying first aid kits - for
both humans and
pets - on FloridaPets.net at wholesale and
discount prices. Go here to
check them out!
And if you were wondering if spring truly
has
arrived, just ask Tess, pictured above,
modeling her adorable Easter bonnet. Move
over, America's Top Model, this Boston is
headed for Milan.
As always, we want you to know how much
we appreciate you for "tailing" along with
FloridaPets.net and the NewsPetter. We
welcome your comments and suggestions.

Pet-Friendly Dining
Right before we sent out this month's
NewsPetter, we found out Sarasota County will
soon
be setting a public hearing on whether or not
doggie dining will become a reality in this part
of Florida. We've reported for some time now
on our
doggie dining page the matter was "under
discussion." Seems so many people have
been emailing
the county, asking for doggie dining, the
County
Commission decided to get beyond discussing
the issue by voting to hold a public hearing on
the matter.
The commissioners
have yet to actually schedule the hearing, but
we're sure the people who wrote before - and
now, others of course - will remind them, if
necessary, then attend the hearing
once a day and time is set.
When the public hearing is scheduled, you
can
help by showing up in support of doggie dining
and, if you're not too shy to speak, you'll want
to have a small statement prepared for the
portion where they allow public input. If things
start dragging and you want to send
lawmakers a reminder to set the hearing,
here's the contact
information for the Sarasota County
Commission.

Poop-Freeze
Portable, quick and easy clean up
What's great for visits to the dog park, the
beach, for doggie dining dates, hiking,
attending events, vacationing and more?
Poop-Freeze Aerosol
Freeze Spray, of course!
Here's a specially
formulated
spray that, upon contact, forms a frosty film on
dog or cat poop to harden the surface for
easy pick-up.
Cleaning up after your pet will soon
become law everywhere. So let Poop-Freeze
Spray
be your tool for portable, quick, safe, easy and
sanitary
disposal of dog (or cat) waste. Even works on
diarrhea.

Tips and Tails
Special announcements or news from readers
1. Pets - the new druggies?
According
to the Animal Health Institute, Americans
bought $2.9 billion worth of pet drugs in 2005 -
twice the amount spent in 2000. They've had
inspiration: The U.S. Food and Drug
Administration approved more than 40
new pet drugs during those five years.
2. Help make sure condo owners
can live in peace with their pets. Sign the
petition at Citizens
for Pets In Condos.
3. In a related matter, urge your
lawmakers to VOTE FOR the Emotional
