"They're part of the family, so take them along!"
April, 2007 Vol. 5 No. 4

|
Greetings, everyone!
Do you have trouble viewing emails with
images? Then Fred our basset boy, pictured
at left, suggests
you read the NewsPetter
here.
There's been plenty of information
about the recent pet food recall crisis, but
some of it has been contradictory. Two Web
sites we've found quite helpful are
The Pet Foods List which tracks
brands NOT recalled, and Pet
Food Tracker which tracks food that ARE
on the recall list.
I'm excited to tell you
about a group of pet lovers who've
organized to become PascoPrepared4Pets.
They are
seeking other pet
guardians from the
North West part of Pasco County to help in
times of disasters, such as hurricanes.
Goals for the group include finding a physical
location in Pasco County where people and
their pets can
safely ride out disasters since county officials
are "still looking for a place." Volunteers are
also needed to help rescue pets left behind.
Individuals or
businesses can help this group with donations
of cash,
services or supplies. To get involved, visit
the link above or email:
dogs_onthe_run@yahoo.com.
As always, readers, we want you to know
how much
we appreciate you for "tailing along" with
FloridaPets.net and the NewsPetter. We
welcome your comments and suggestions.

Pet-Friendly Vacation Spot
Omni Orlando Resort at Championsgate
The Omni Orlando Resort
offers a real break for the senses, surrounded
by 1,200-acres of wetlands.
Guests can enjoy a 15-acre recreation
area,
which includes an 850-foot river pool,
pictured above, that winds through tunnels,
gentle rapids and hidden canyons. There are
three other outdoor pools, a
championship golf course designed by Greg
Norman, and a European-style spa ready to
pamper both sexes.
We spoke to a Resort representative who
told us pets are allowed on the second floor
and must weigh 25 pounds or less. There is a
$50 non-refundable per stay pet deposit,
required at check-in. We were also told the
Resort
offers a nice grassy area near their valet
parking where canines can stretch their legs.
There are complimentary
cleanup bags for pet business.
Editor's Note: Pet policies
can change quickly, depending on the last
bad human guest. As always,
verify pet policies before making a reservation.
