"They're part of the family, so take them along!"

Greetings, everyone!
Do you have trouble viewing emails with
images? We don't want you to miss the good
stuff, so please read the
NewsPetter here.
This issue will be shorter than usual.
My back (injury) has not been
cooperating with me for the last couple of
weeks and I just can't sit for long. I'm lying
low on the couch here; can you tell which
body is mine? Seriously, though, if you can
name the dogs in this photo, I've got a gift for
you.
Please bookmark our 2007
Pet-Friendly Hurricane Shelter Guide.
We update the info as we get it, so just refresh
the page each time you view it and you'll
always have the
latest information to use or share with others.
As always, readers, we want you to know
how much
we appreciate you and we
welcome your comments and suggestions.

From Our Readers
Do we deserve the love of our old dogs?
Meet Max.
"He's my old mixed up dog," writes
Charlene Tipton of Spring City, Tennessee.
"He was dumped,
probably about 5 years old when I got
him. I have had him 7 years now myself. He
has all but lost his front teeth now. His eyes
are going and he does not hear as well
anymore either."
But Max knows he's loved. One way is
when Charlene makes him a new bandana.
She makes very pretty, very affordable
bandanas and we've bought one for each
month of the year for Pepper, our poodle boy.
You may wish to check them out.

Pet-Friendly Vacation Spot
Tremain Street Cottages - Mount Dora
The Tremain Street Cottages are little
surprises tucked into the midst of
downtown
Mount Dora. Dubbed the "Antique Capital
of
Florida", Mount Dora is one of the last
remaining quaint towns in the sunshine
state
that's void of the hustle and bustle, yet has
plenty to do and see.
So it's especially nice to find three
cottages in the city's historic
district that are pet friendly, the
Hideaway and the Nantucket and the
Garden.
Only small pets (20 pounds or less) are
allowed in the Hideaway
because it is upstairs with a steep stair
well.
The Nantucket and the Garden Cottage
can
accommodate pets of any size, but the
owners
reserve the right to not allow certain
breeds of
dogs. There is a one-time pet fee of
$30.00 for
dogs over 20 pounds.
The Tremain Street Cottages are
located
near
the corner of 6th Avenue
and Tremain Street, just a block from
Donnelly
Park where leashed dogs are permitted if
their
humans are well behaved and pick up after
the both of them. Also, Mount Dora Dog Park is about a
half of
a mile from the cottages.
