As you can see, we've redesigned the
NewsPetter a bit. What do you think? Do you like it
better or less than our old design? We welcome your
comments and suggestions.
The past few mornings, we've been honored
with a visit from four wild turkeys. We're a bit worried
for them because of the season, but since they
showed up in town, not in
the woods in the county, we're thinking maybe
they've
read the ordinance that states it's against the law to
discharge guns inside city limits. They're fun to
have around and we'll watch out for them the
best we can.
Recently a reader asked us about pet first aid.
We list several pet First Aid/CPR
classes around the state on FloridaPets.net.
Attending in
person is always best, but if for some
reason you can't get to a class, you can always take
one online.

Pet-Friendly Activity
K-9s & Kids Festival and Parade - Orlando
The annual K-9's & Kids Festival and Parade will be
held Friday, November 24, 2006 from 1-6 p.m.,
downtown Lake Eola in Orlando. This year's theme
is "The Wizard of Paws." Registration starts at 1 pm
and the parade begins at 2:30 pm. Join kids and dogs
in raising money for animal rescue organizations and
enjoy a day filled with live entertainment, vendors,
contests with decorated wagons, strollers and mini-
floats and lots of prizes.

One of our favorite readers, Judy Neff (married to
Jerry) and her six-year-old Westland Terrier, Maggie,
are pictured here, taking a break from hitting the
pavement, bending
ears, chatting up the politicians and restaurant
owners,
and otherwise working their fingers and paws to the
bone to help make doggie dining a reality in
Bradenton. It hasn't been approved yet, but it looks
