Paws Dog Park
By Patricia Collier, Owner, FloridaPets.net
Dog parks are known for being roomy and airy, but Paws Dog Park is a pooch playground the size of a football field.
Located at the north end of St. Johns County, right next to Jacksonville Beach and Ponte Vedra, Paws Dog Park is part of the 138-acre Davis Park Complex. St. Johns County Parks and Recreation maintain the complex which is set up with activities for just about everyone’s tastes.
The dog park portion of the Davis Park facility offers a double-gated entry, separate area for large dogs, an obstacle course, a dog wash, plenty of waste stations with bags, benches, a pond, and access to restrooms. There’s even special parking for dog park visitors. Picnic and playground facilities will be constructed by the County at a later date.
Paws Dog Park is located at 210 Davis Park Road, less than a mile west of the Intracoastal Waterway on Palm Valley Road. It is open Sunday through Saturday, 7 a.m. - sunset. For more information, call (904) 824-7943.
NOTE: We try our best to cover all pet friendly locations in the Jacksonville area, but if you have information about any dog park, beach, restaurant, store, or any other animal recreation facilities, in the Jacksonville/Duval County area, please contact FloridaPets.net.
