    First acquired in 1977, Big Lagoon State Park is a 705-acre Florida State Park located on the northwestern Florida coast, approximately 10 miles southwest of Pensacola on Gulf Beach Highway. 698 acres, a 500-seat amphitheater, sandy beaches, salt marshes on Big Lagoon, plenty of wildlife, picnic areas with shelters, camping, canoeing, swimming, boat ramp, and a nature trail. Florida State laws do not permit pets on beaches, but visitors may walk their leashed dogs on specified trails, paths, and park roads. Leashes must be 6-foot long.
