"I'm seeing more and more people enjoying the park with their pets. I did note...two handicap accessible, permanent porta-potties, so there's somewhere for man's best friend to go too!"
"This park opened in May of 2006. The 45-acre park includes an 80-ft. fishing pier which overlooks the 96-acre Lake Idamere, and a 1-1/2-acre dog park. The dog park has 3 separate areas, one for small dogs, one for large dogs and an obstacle course which has tunnels and hurdles, with covered picnic tables in the middle for dog guardians. There are waste stations with bags, several water stations, usually there are bowls left out and a large tub for the dogs to drink out of, and shade trees. Unfortunately, there is a lot of dark sand under the pine trees, so sometimes the dogs get dirty and need a bath afterwards. There are several other covered picnic table areas, a pavillion, charcoal grills, a nature trail, drinking fountains, etc."
"My Beagle and I have visited the dog park several times, met some great people and their pets and had a great time. I don't remember if there are restrooms, I'll have to check the next time we're there! This park is great in so many ways and very beautiful. The fence around the dog park is adorned with colorful acrylic dog silhouettes of all breeds. There is usually maintenance staff around and usually dogs to play with depending on the time of day."
