Tamarac Dog Parks

Gary B. Jones Park for People and Pups

This park opened in the fall of 2008. It is located at 8100 Southgate Blvd., on the NW corner of University Drive and Southgate Boulevard, west of Tamarac's Memorial Veterans' park. Offers 3.5 acres with a 13,000 square foot section for small dogs called "Wiggley Field" and a 1-acre area for large dogs called Tam-A-Bark Run." There is also 9,000 square feet of common dog area and nice walking paths, multiple shelters, a drinking fountain for both humans and canines, a dog bathing area and plenty of parking. For more information, call 954-597-3620.

Reader Notes:

"The park is divided into 2 areas. One for small breeds and the other for larger. It has 3 gazebos in the smaller area and I think 4 in the larger area. It features a water fountain in the play area for the babies and it also has another section when you walk in that also has a large gazebo, water fountain & a hose where you can wash your babies. The park also has activities on some days, such as last week they had a pageant and several vendors.. not to mention free goody bags."

NOTE: We can't visit every area on a regular basis, so if you have information about any dog parks or beaches, or any other animal recreation facilities, in the Tamarac area, please contact FloridaPets.net.
