1. Broward County Parks
Well-behaved, leashed dogs are allowed to visit all Broward County Parks except the following Nature Centers: Anne Kolb, Secret Woods, Fern Forest, Tall Cypress, Hillsboro Pineland, and Deerfield Island.
2. Markham Park
Located at 16001 W. State Road 84. We also have this park listed under the city of Sunrise.
The fee for the entire park, including the bark park, is just $1.50 per person above 5 years of age, but only on weekends and holidays; during the week, there is no fee. Beyond the bark park, there is an enormous park with camping, picnic areas, playgrounds, small/toy aircraft airport, range, personal water-craft area, boating, hiking, bike paths, horse back riding and much more.
"The entire park is very well maintained and clean".
"This is a very large enclosed bark park inside the main park, the best dog park she's seen. It's very clean, they supply doggie doodie bags, shelters, shaded areas, hose watering stations where you can hose your dog down, let your dog play in a kiddie pool or just get something to drink. There are water fountains, lots of grass, a paved walking path, benches, two separate fenced areas, one for big dogs and another for little dogs."
"We were very impressed with the little dog area. It has benches, a pavilion, paths, lots of shade trees and plenty of room for the little guys to run. There is an adjoining fenced area with a pavillion and a washing station. All of this is double-fenced, only one entrance and exit (also double fenced) so you, your dogs and family can feel safe. There are regular patrols by park employees."
"We highly recommend it for families with or without dogs."
"This is a very nice large designated area for dogs. There is a small admission charge. They have little swimming pools, exercise equipment, lots of running space, places to shower them down and seats for humans to sit and watch their pets. Inside this area they can be set loose, but you must pick up after them."
"We recently took our Maltese to Markham and it was one of the best dog parks we ever saw."
